The Buddhist temple

Temple Bouddhiste - Pairi Daiza
Architecture

The plan is classic:

in the central (largest) building you can find the Buddha statue, numerous objects, ...

On both sides of the temple, there are two small buildings, which are used for storage. on the square, you can find a tgong, a ceremonial bell and a large bronze censer.

All these elements are authentic and were manufactured in China, by skilled artisans. The big Buddha statue for instance is made out of camphor wood. Is consists of massive blocks with struts, covered with a patina to temper the bright colors.

To make this a lively place, alcoves were build in the wall between the two squares, in order to attract nesting birds. This should be a tribute to nature and a wink to the history of Pairi Daiza, when it was an ornithological park.
